CALVING GLACIER

For those who want to add one or two days to one’s  fishing schedule, Patagonia awaits with a sheer endless amount of wonders that are yet to be discovered. The Perito Moreno Glacier, the world-famous crown jewel of the “Los Glaciares National Park”, filled travelers and screen-followers alike with awe that will last a lifetime. Known as the world’s third biggest freshwater reservoir, the glacier calves smaller chunks off ice on daily base in to the placid lake (Lago Argentino) Based upon a 4 year cycle, the glacier overextends itself and one can marvel at the process of calving. Sky-scraper sized icewalls, icebergs and chunks of ice are breaking off the crystalline front, emitting a sonic boom that will goose bump even the most diehard visitor.
