Week report 11 Las Buitreras 2017

There are so many elements that goes into a succesful fishing trip. Attitude, expectations, skill level, experince and many more. However, perhaps the most important and the only one impossible to affect for an angler is the condition of the river or water you are about to fish during your relatively short trip! This group arrived on the same day as a major flood, water rising by over a meter over night making it look more like chocolate than water and full of weed and dirt dragged along. Fishing was more or less impossible with weed sticking to your line every cast and the visibility being zero to none....

Week report 10 Las Buitreras 2017

Week 10 saw a group of mixed nationalities make their way to Estancia Las buitreras. We had the Italians, Ottavio and famous outdoor photographer Mauro Barbacci hosted by Sandro from Catch Outdoors. We had Americans Ben and Ken: Ben, here for his second time after spending a week with us last year without putting a fly on his leader only to focus on improving his casting. This year Ben felt ready to fish and brough his friend Ken who after a 30 year break was ready to pick fly fishing up again....

This week we had the pleasure of welcoming a Finnish TV team filming for the show Arctic waters! We also welcomed the two German gentleman Helmut and Dietz, ready to take on any challenge thrown at them by Team Finland!...

Week 8 we welcomed our long time friends Ginny and Dave back to the lodge, this time accompanied by Seth. We also had a group of new clients from Poland led by their host Greg as well as Per from Sweden and Thomas from Germany!...

Week 7 here at Las Buitreras saw a mixed group of Scandinavian and European anglers take on Rio Gallegos and we were all happy to welcome long time friends Johan and Ronny back to the lodge!...

Week report 6 Las Buitreras 2017

Time is flying and we are already into week 6 here at Estancia Las Buitreras! The season so far has been great and we really hope it will remain good all season....
